JOB DESCRIPTION
Join a large-scale modernization program migrating a Fujitsu mainframe COBOL system to Java• Review existing COBOL assets and help define the migration and rewrite plan• Execute a full rewrite from COBOL to idiomatic Java (pure Java; no COBOL-style Java/“JaBOL”)• Apply modern Java engineering practices across design, implementation, and reviews
REQUIREMENTS
Required experience:• Business-level Japanese communication (JLPT N2 equivalent)• 3+ years of Java development experience
Preferred experience:• Mainframe/COBOL and/or large-scale migration modernization exposure• Batch processing and large-scale data processing knowledge
BENEFITS
Bonuses: Twice a year (in July and December).
Salary Increase: Annually in August.
Housing Allowance: 30,000 yen per month.
