JOB DESCRIPTION
Participate in a project to migrate a system from COBOL (IBM/Mainframe/legacy) to NETCOBOL (Fujitsu).
Analyze the existing COBOL program:
Structure, business logic
File handling (VSAM / sequential)
Convert code to NETCOBOL standard:
Adapt API / runtime differences
File system → RDBMS (if applicable)
Batch job → new script / scheduler
Compare output between the old and new systems
Debug and fix errors arising after migration.
Write mapping documentation and migration guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
6 months – 2 years of experience with:
COBOL (mainframe or open COBOL preferred)
File processing (sequential / indexed)
Read and understand legacy code
Compare and validate logic
Careful, detail-oriented thinking (very important in migrations)
Shell scripts / Windows batches
Databases (Oracle, SQL Server)
