JOB DESCRIPTION
Design and build backend APIs that act as tools for the assistant
Translate product/business requirements into clean, well-documented API contracts
Read, understand, and evaluate existing system architecture
Work within our existing stack: TypeScript, Python, Node.js, Next.js, tRPC, Drizzle ORM, PostgreSQL, and Azure
Integrate with internal data sources and downstream systems
Build and integrate event-driven flows using Azure services and/or Kafka
Write tests and monitor tool performance in production
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Participate in code reviews and collaborate with DevOps and QA
Handle multiple concurrent workstreams effectively
Follow internal ticket-based CI/CD processes
REQUIREMENTS
4 - 6 years of professional backend development experience
Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills
Working proficiency in Python
Solid relational database experience (PostgreSQL preferred)
Familiarity with cloud deployment
Understanding of API design best practices
Comfortable working in a small team
